The Spirit of Hawaii Story
The Spirit of Hawaii (B-2A 82-1066) was an operational Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit stealth bomber assigned to the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. It served as part of the USAF's premier strategic bomber fleet from the 1990s until it was destroyed following a landing gear collapse and subsequent fire at Whiteman AFB on December 10, 2022.
